Overview
Full Compass Systems is a national retailer and dealer of professional audio, video, lighting, and musical instrument equipment. The homepage redesign was created to better reflect the company’s technology-focused direction while positioning Full Compass as both a source for professional gear and a useful content resource for its customers.
Objective
Redesign the Full Compass homepage to create a more modern, responsive, and content-forward experience that supported the company’s evolving brand direction, product discovery needs, and customer education goals.
My Role
I worked as the UI Engineer on the project, translating the approved design direction into a responsive WordPress/Elementor homepage experience. My work focused on front-end implementation, responsive layout behavior, component structure, content presentation, and production readiness.

Challenge
The existing homepage needed to do more than act as a storefront entry point. It needed to communicate Full Compass’s broader value: deep product expertise, technical support, trusted brand access, and educational content for customers across industries such as churches, theaters, schools, production teams, and AV professionals.
The redesign needed to balance ecommerce utility with brand storytelling and content discovery while remaining usable across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints.
Approach
The implementation focused on creating a responsive homepage structure that could support multiple content types, including product messaging, brand positioning, promotional areas, and educational pathways.
Key considerations included:
•Translating static design direction into flexible, responsive page sections
•Preserving visual hierarchy across major breakpoints
•Supporting ecommerce and content-discovery goals on the same page
•Building within WordPress/Elementor constraints
•Maintaining a scalable page structure for future homepage updates
•Ensuring the experience remained usable across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile layouts

UX/UI Considerations
The homepage needed to guide different customer types without overwhelming them. The page structure prioritized clear messaging, scannable content areas, and responsive layouts that preserved the intent of each section across screen sizes.
The design also needed to support Full Compass’s dual role as both a product source and an educational resource. This meant the interface had to make room for product discovery, brand credibility, and content-driven exploration without making the page feel fragmented.
Outcome
The redesigned homepage gave Full Compass a more modern, flexible, and content-forward entry point for customers. It better aligned the homepage experience with the company’s technology-focused direction while supporting responsive access across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile devices.
